Daisy the Duckling

On a sunny morning, Daisy the duckling peeked from behind a bush. She watched her friends splashing happily in the pond. "Come on, Daisy! Join us!" quacked Benny, flapping his wings.

Daisy felt a flutter in her tummy. She loved her friends, but water seemed so big and scary. "I want to swim, but..." she whispered, wishing she could be brave like them.

All afternoon, Daisy sat on the soft grass. Her friends played games and had so much fun. They dove under and popped up, making giggles fill the air. "Look at me, Daisy!" called

Lily, a little duck with bright yellow feathers. Daisy wanted to laugh, but she shook her head. The water lapped at the shore, and she felt a little sad inside.

Daisy thought about her friends' laughter and the cool water. What would it feel like? She gathered her courage and took a step

closer. The water sparkled in the sunlight, looking so inviting. "Maybe it’s not so scary," Daisy muttered to herself. She

took another step, wiggling her tiny feet in the chilly water. It sent shivers up her legs, but she didn’t turn back.

Suddenly, Benny swam close to her and smiled. "See, Daisy? It’s fun! Just dip your toe!" With a deep breath, Daisy lifted her foot and gently touched the water. The coolness tickled her! She

couldn’t help but giggle. "It's nice!" she exclaimed, and her friends cheered, "Yay, Daisy!" It felt like the water was hugging her, and her heart fluttered with excitement.

With newfound courage, Daisy waddled into the pond. She felt the water splash around her. "Wheee!" she squealed, paddling her little feet. Her friends swam all around her. "You did it,

Daisy!" they quacked joyfully. Daisy smiled wide, surrounded by her friends. She realized that water was not scary after all; it was a wonderful adventure waiting for her.
